[0.0s] Previously on Dumbgeons and Dragons. [2.0s] Where do we, where do we find these things? [5.0s] I have a friend who may be able to help us acquire particular tools. [10.0s] It's up here, Shimmer. [12.0s] Okay, someone, okay. [13.0s] So what's, uh, what's the word here, buddy? [16.0s] Sully, I've been asked to bring your friend down to Ms. Mammyowmyow. [20.0s] And you, Glim, tell me a little bit about yourself. [22.0s] How long have you been here in Neverwinter? [24.0s] Oh, hardly any time at all. I just arrived on a caravan. [27.0s] I've got a destiny to save the world. [29.0s] Really? I have a friend here. [31.0s] Pulling one of the, one of the good old heists of people from a prison. [36.0s] A jailbreak. [37.0s] Yeah, my one friend is a, is a dragonborn who follows Bahamut. [42.0s] I don't think she's gonna be out there breaking the law, do you? [45.0s] Interest. [46.0s] This is your standard array of thieves' tools. [49.0s] Is that it? Do, do you need anything? [51.0s] Gabriel knows the routine. I'm sure he will fill you in. [55.0s] Oh, hey, hey, other person. Yeah, yeah, I got it. [57.0s] I'm gonna, I'm gonna try to get it up to that window for you. [60.0s] You gotta go through? [61.0s] Sure. [62.0s] Alright, Major Lee, let's do this. [63.0s] You hear the sweet sound of a large click as the lock turns within. [70.0s] You should probably find like a getaway ride. [73.0s] Uh, yeah, that's, that's, that's a really good idea. [76.0s] Um, what do you, what do you, what do you think? What do you have in mind? [78.0s] We're a couple of streets down. You know what? Follow me. [81.0s] Welcome to Dumbgeons and Dragons. [84.0s] We're a D&D fifth edition actual play podcast, [87.0s] and I'm your dungeon master Russ More. [89.0s] And with me today is Amy More. [91.0s] Yes, I am here. [93.0s] I've hidden a moth somewhere in this room that Russ doesn't know. [97.0s] Also, I play Sullivan Slyte, a Lightfoot halfling, uh, rogue. [103.0s] Also with me, Carla Johnson. [106.0s] That is me. No moths. [109.0s] You know what? That's a lie. [110.0s] There's actually literally always moths in here, but like those little, um, [113.0s] the paper ones, the little tiny boys, the little small ones. [118.0s] Yeah. The little tiny boys, Tom. [120.0s] That's a sweet way of describing it. [121.0s] There's always in my apartment for some reason. [124.0s] Little tiny devil boys. [126.0s] Yeah. [127.0s] Also with us. [128.0s] I have to say who I am. I'm not just the moth person. [131.0s] You usually say it right off the top. [134.0s] I'm only mostly the moth person, but in the context of this podcast, [139.0s] I play Glim, a dragonborn pAlydin. [141.0s] If you talk about moths for too long, I just cut you off. [144.0s] And Tom Laird. [146.0s] Yeah, that's me. [147.0s] I hired a team of people to go to Russ and Amy's house and strategically [151.0s] release moths every now and then just to keep Russ on his toes. [157.0s] Oh, all right. [159.0s] I thought there was some coming there. [162.0s] And I play Moot, who is a half-orc wild magic sorcerer. [167.0s] Moths were apparently big in the Discord today, [169.0s] which is why they're very prevalent in today's episode. [172.0s] There's all sorts of fun conversation in the Discord all the time. [175.0s] Also, FYI, Russ is afraid of moths. [179.0s] So if you want to ship us some moths. [182.0s] No. [183.0s] We have a PO bot. [184.0s] Don't do that. [186.0s] Oh my god, Russ opens it and they're just like. [190.0s] I don't even. [191.0s] Podcast over or somebody kills me. [193.0s] It would be terrifying, regardless of your feeling. [195.0s] It would be so frightening. [197.0s] Those poor moths. [198.0s] They're just dark butterflies. [200.0s] That's true. [201.0s] I'm not scared of them, but it would scare me if I opened a little package [204.0s] and something flew out in my face. [206.0s] Yeah. [207.0s] Yeah. [208.0s] How do you feel about those greeting cards, Russ, [210.0s] that the thing would like fly out of when you open it? [212.0s] That's what I was just thinking about. [213.0s] Like the wind up butterfly inside. [214.0s] Oh, those are fine, because those are butterflies. [217.0s] What if it was a wind up moth? [218.0s] It does seem racist. [219.0s] Yeah, doesn't it? [220.0s] Yeah. [221.0s] Yeah, or speciesist. [222.0s] Speciesist. [223.0s] Yeah. [224.0s] Well, I don't know what to tell you. [225.0s] Look, you like what you like, and I don't like moths. [228.0s] Fair. [229.0s] That's fair. [230.0s] Where hopefully there aren't moths is over on Patreon. [233.0s] Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. [235.0s] And when you are a patron of ours, you get an episode dedicated to you. [239.0s] Like today's patron, Devin Michaels. [243.0s] Devin Michaels. [244.0s] Thanks, Devin. [245.0s] Devin Michaels. [247.0s] No, we said that the last time, but still not a first name. [250.0s] Michaels is not a first name. [252.0s] Okay, fine. [253.0s] I stand corrected. [255.0s] One first name in a craft store. [257.0s] I made a note for my next Patreon game. [259.0s] I don't know if you guys can read that, but it says fight giant moth. [262.0s] I like it. [264.0s] We're in some sort of weird meta dream hellscape over there. [268.0s] Anything goes. [269.0s] There could very well be giant moths. [271.0s] So if you want to hear those episodes where we have to fight a giant moth, maybe or maybe not, you should become a patron, [277.0s] because that's how you can listen to those episodes. [279.0s] That's how you do that. [282.0s] Sorry, I got something stuck in my throat. [284.0s] Is it a moth? [285.0s] It's like a spiky sparkling water. [287.0s] Probably not a moth in that can. [289.0s] Oh dear god. [293.0s] I'm not going to eat you all. [295.0s] Like throw them off from like before we started recording. [299.0s] Burn and like just burn. [302.0s] Burn like a moth in one of those bug zappers. [304.0s] They really light up. [305.0s] Oh no, they really do. [306.0s] Fuck it. [307.0s] Let's play D&D so I can take control of this thing again and not have moths part of the narrative. [314.0s] We're all going to die. [315.0s] Yep. [316.0s] This episode. [320.0s] Sully and Glim had just broken out of their cells and now we find them at the door to the hallway. [330.0s] And then whoever was first. [333.0s] Was me. [334.0s] Saw a guard pass down far end of the hallway. [338.0s] I look back at Glim and I say, hey, so he's like, he's gone. [344.0s] So we should. [346.0s] And then I scurry out into the hallway. [348.0s] So Layout, you know, before you scurry out into the hallway, you know that you take a right out. [356.0s] Down at the end of the hallway is the big window overlooking the courtyard. [360.0s] You know, to the left where he went is down towards Ms. [363.0s] Ma'am Meow Meow's office, the guard room to the right. [368.0s] You know, there's a big door that you have never seen inside and towards Ms. [373.0s] Ma'am Meow Meow's office is the stairwell out. [377.0s] I run quickly back in to the room as Glim is coming out and like kind of like kind of smush her back in. [385.0s] And I go, do you like want your stuff or anything? [390.0s] What stuff? [392.0s] Well, I assume when they they brought you in, you had like get stuff. [398.0s] We just took all my stuff. [401.0s] So I'm just thinking like maybe we could go and get my stuff. [404.0s] Did they take my stuff? [406.0s] This has not been established for us. [408.0s] They tossed your room. [410.0s] As far as you know, you were brought back by the guard, one of the guards. [415.0s] Oh, because I was just chilling, reading a book like in my PJs. [418.0s] I probably didn't really have any stuff. [420.0s] Oh, my God. Are you in your PJs right now? [422.0s] Yeah, you didn't have anything like particularly on you. [426.0s] But as far as you know, your weaponry and shield should be back at your place. [432.0s] As far as you know. [434.0s] Which is called the Fallen Tower. [439.0s] I am not in pajamas, but I am in some casual loungewear. [444.0s] Like yoga pants. [446.0s] Like soft clothes when I get home, you know. [451.0s] I don't I don't need my stuff. [454.0s] My stuff's back at the not the hotel. [456.0s] That's probably not a word. [458.0s] It's back at the Airbnb. [462.0s] Let's just take a lift. [463.0s] We'll get there. [464.0s] The Air D&D. [466.0s] The Air D&D. [468.0s] Oh, my God. [469.0s] Imagine someone has. [471.0s] Of course it is. [473.0s] I thought I just had something incredible. [475.0s] Of course not. [477.0s] Once we once we get out of here, I'll have to go back to the Fallen Tower. [481.0s] It's where all of my things are and my weapons and shield and everything. [485.0s] Yeah, OK. You can do whatever you want when we get it. [488.0s] Well, we're going to stay together after we get out, aren't we? [491.0s] Well, you know what? [492.0s] We're really like a lot faster if we separate ourselves. [495.0s] Let's deal with that later. [496.0s] Let's just figure out how to get out of here. [498.0s] Yeah, OK. [499.0s] I poke my head out again and look around the corner. [502.0s] So you are what are you looking for? [504.0s] I'm looking for the guard to walk past. [507.0s] OK, roll me. [510.0s] Well, if you're if you're looking for possible ways out or other things, roll an investigation. [516.0s] If you're just looking for the guy, roll a perception. [521.0s] Glim, you can roll an investigation from inside the cell if you so desire. [525.0s] It's a seven either way. [527.0s] OK, OK, I like it. [530.0s] I don't love it. [532.0s] It is a seven. [533.0s] So, hey, seven days. [536.0s] I'm generally aware that I'm in a prison. [539.0s] Yeah, you know, you're in a prison. [541.0s] Glim, you see, I mean, you see the prison cells, you see. [546.0s] Also, there is a, you know, roughly person sized vent above the door that you may not have paid attention to before. [554.0s] But now that you're in escape mode, that's there. [558.0s] Describe person size, my size or Sully's size, because I am very big. [563.0s] Sully is pretty small. [565.0s] Like human sized? [567.0s] Yeah, well, like, you know. [569.0s] Because a person is a person no matter how small, Russ. [571.0s] That's right. [572.0s] I think Horton taught us that. [574.0s] It would be a tight squeeze for you if you were to use it as a as a as a mode of transportation. [581.0s] But not for my friend Sully. [582.0s] But not for Sully. [584.0s] I have a question, though. [586.0s] Now this vent, is it just like a vent and it's like it goes through and like I'm going to fuck down on the other side of the door and be like, well, fuck. [595.0s] Or is it like a bulkhead situation? [597.0s] Like a bulkhead situation. [598.0s] So the wall goes up higher. [600.0s] It goes above where the ceiling is in the next area. [605.0s] Can I investigate like the bars on the wall? [609.0s] Well, I'm out of my cell, right? [611.0s] Can I investigate the bars on the window and see like how robust those are? [616.0s] Sure. [617.0s] Would we survive the fall? [619.0s] That's only one story. [620.0s] Your second story. [621.0s] You can land on me. [622.0s] I'm big. [624.0s] I'll protect you, little friend. [627.0s] I'll make you bounce. [629.0s] You won't break a thing. [631.0s] Fourteen. [633.0s] I mean, they look they look like bars. [635.0s] They look strong. [636.0s] I'm trying to see how strong they look. [638.0s] They look fairly well anchored. [640.0s] You give you give a tug. [642.0s] There's not a lot of movement to them. [644.0s] Hardly any at all. [647.0s] OK. [648.0s] All right, Glim, I think we should just like make a run for it. [652.0s] And then so we run out and then where do we go? [656.0s] What door are we aiming for? [658.0s] Past the guard? [659.0s] Down the stairs? [660.0s] Well, no, no. [662.0s] So we're going to turn to the to the I look at my hands and I put up like the two L's. [669.0s] I take a moment. [670.0s] I'm like to the right and then there's a window. [676.0s] Just just just follow me. [680.0s] OK. [681.0s] I'm going on the instinct here. [683.0s] OK. [684.0s] I trust you. [687.0s] I should warn you. [688.0s] I'm not very sneaky. [690.0s] I'll do my best. [692.0s] OK. [693.0s] Yeah. [694.0s] You just do what you can. [695.0s] I'm like I'm a big lumbering Godzilla. [697.0s] All right. [698.0s] Both of you roll a stealth check. [699.0s] This will be to get you down to the end of the hallway. [702.0s] Anything that happens between here and there will be dictated by this stealth roll. [706.0s] You will hear the thunk of importance. [708.0s] Cross your fingers. [710.0s] Oh, I did so good. [712.0s] Eighteen. [713.0s] Eighteen as well. [714.0s] Hey, we are so twinsies. [716.0s] You guys are really insane. [718.0s] All right. [719.0s] So you go out. [720.0s] So to get to the hallway where you saw the guard go, you go right. [723.0s] There is a bit of an alcove to your left. [726.0s] You already technically investigated this area. [728.0s] Glim as you come out, make an investigation check as well. [734.0s] Six. [736.0s] Looks like a hallway. [737.0s] We're not very. [738.0s] I just take a really long blanket stretch. [741.0s] Yeah. [742.0s] There's torches lit along the length of the hallway. [745.0s] But otherwise nothing else of note until you get down to the end of the hallway. [750.0s] Once you get there, what do you do? [755.0s] So I can go right toward the door. [757.0s] I don't know. [760.0s] And left. [761.0s] I just want to peek in here just for a second. [763.0s] My curiosity is just through the roof. [765.0s] And then left is like guards rooms, stairs. [768.0s] Miss Mamiya meows. [769.0s] Yep. [770.0s] So, yeah, there is a stretch of hallway down to the right and then the door. [774.0s] It's like 15 feet to that door. [777.0s] So both of you make a perception check before you round the corner. [781.0s] Roll of importance. [784.0s] Twenty. [785.0s] Oh, damn. [786.0s] Damn. [787.0s] Wait, perception. [789.0s] Eighteen. [791.0s] Still good. [792.0s] Still a good roll. [793.0s] Minus one. [794.0s] Wow. [795.0s] It's an interesting rogue characteristic. [797.0s] Well, I don't. [798.0s] I like it. [799.0s] It's good. [800.0s] That's fine. [801.0s] It's very self-involved. [803.0s] As you get to the corner, you hear the sound of like plate armor and chainmail kind of just like settle into place to the right. [813.0s] Can I put my mirror? [816.0s] You put your you put your mirror there and there is a guard seated in a chair by that door. [822.0s] Both of you have passed by that door. [825.0s] There never previously been a guard, although neither of you have really been out late at night. [831.0s] So there is one. [832.0s] It looks like he's dozed off. [834.0s] You do the same down to the left and it looks like a clear hallway torches down the way. [839.0s] And it looks like both doors. [841.0s] Miss man meow meows and the guard chambers are currently closed. [845.0s] Yeah, right. [846.0s] So it looks I know it looks like we should probably go to the left, but I like I really need to know what's in there. [852.0s] Are you sure? [853.0s] Because that's the way I came in was over there. [856.0s] Yeah, I'll be like really quick. [858.0s] If you could just keep a keep an eye out, that'd be really great. [860.0s] You want me to just stay here? [861.0s] Yeah. [862.0s] You'd be like a super buddy. [863.0s] Oh, OK. [865.0s] OK. [866.0s] Be careful. [867.0s] OK. [868.0s] Thanks, super buddy. [870.0s] Through the tulips. [871.0s] Make another stealth check because this is a new hallway. [876.0s] It's going to be a 22. [880.0s] Oh, it's my stuff. [883.0s] You are silent as the shadows. [886.0s] Then I get to the door. [888.0s] What are you doing at the door? [890.0s] Is it a is it a turn? [892.0s] It's kind of like it's like yeah, like like all the other doors in this place. [897.0s] We haven't really described the doors, but yeah, they're all like push them. [900.0s] Push them. [901.0s] Yeah. [902.0s] OK. [903.0s] Push them. [904.0s] Latch. [905.0s] Unlatch it. [906.0s] You hear a light click and it's locked. [910.0s] I get in my thieves tools. [913.0s] You make a sleight of hand check. [915.0s] Glim make an investigation check as you're kind of just standing there waiting. [920.0s] 23. [923.0s] Eight. [924.0s] It's an eight. [925.0s] I'm not very good at investigating right now. [927.0s] Apparently. [928.0s] Yep. [929.0s] Why are you the lookout? [930.0s] Well, I can't be the sneak either. [932.0s] So I suppose. [934.0s] OK. [935.0s] Yeah. [936.0s] You Glim. [937.0s] You're just paying attention to what Sully's doing. [939.0s] It's all good. [941.0s] Sully, you put your tools in and it's really quite easy for you. [947.0s] You hear the audible click of the lock change over and then you hear the guard beside you give up. [954.0s] As he settles back to sleep. [962.0s] He obviously had some pudding before he went down. [965.0s] Before I open it, can I make an investigation check on it? [968.0s] I want to check for traps. [970.0s] That's right. [971.0s] Level one shit here, people. [972.0s] I'm checking for traps. [974.0s] I mean, a trap could conceivably kill any of us. [976.0s] Exactly. [978.0s] Yeah, that's only a seven. [980.0s] I mean, it looks it looks like a standard door from what you've seen. [983.0s] Just a standard door. [985.0s] Just a standard door. [986.0s] Slowly. [987.0s] No. [988.0s] Which game is this? [991.0s] I open the door slowly. [993.0s] You crack it open a little bit and you hear a very loud squeak begin to start as you push it open. [1002.0s] I do a quick slide to the hinges and I spit on them. [1008.0s] Kate? [1010.0s] Do I have to roll for spit? [1011.0s] No. [1012.0s] Why don't you just give this one to me because it's so clever. [1014.0s] Yeah, I like it. [1015.0s] Or disgusting. [1017.0s] Odds. [1020.0s] Odds, it does some. [1021.0s] No, you tell me what you want. [1023.0s] Odds, it works. [1024.0s] No, you tell me if you want odd. [1026.0s] You tell me what you want. [1027.0s] Okay, okay. [1028.0s] You tell me. [1029.0s] Okay, evens. [1030.0s] It works and it lubes them up and the squeak stops. [1033.0s] Odds, it doesn't and I've just made everything gooey. [1039.0s] Well, fuck that. [1040.0s] Nice 19 though. [1041.0s] Yeah. [1042.0s] So, you've just made everything gooey and you go to push the door again and the creak is still there. [1049.0s] The guard makes another grumbled movement and kind of lifts his head but doesn't open his eyes and puts it back down. [1057.0s] Is he snoring? [1059.0s] Not really, no. [1060.0s] More just grumbles. [1062.0s] Well, I don't need it to open a whole lot to fit my little body in there. [1067.0s] So, I creak it again. [1070.0s] Mario Party and we're at the thing where you have to pet the caterpillar. [1077.0s] Yeah. [1078.0s] Anybody know what I'm talking about? [1080.0s] Don't Wake Daddy would probably be... [1082.0s] I've played Mario Party several times, haven't played that particular minigame. [1085.0s] I was also thinking Don't Wake Daddy but then I thought, is that a weird cooperative game from the 80s that no one else will know what I'm talking about? [1091.0s] But it does seem like Don't Wake Daddy. [1094.0s] Okay, then make a stealth check as you try and do this. [1099.0s] Ah, 14. [1102.0s] It was good? [1103.0s] No, 12. [1105.0s] It's not the worst. [1106.0s] I rolled a five. [1108.0s] I'm just trying to open it enough to squeeze my body through. [1111.0s] There's a very loud creak as you do that. [1113.0s] You slip in and kind of push the door closed behind you, not closed but latched. [1118.0s] You hear the guard kind of, again, grumble, glim. [1123.0s] You see as you're kind of peeking around the corner, his eyes open for a second. [1127.0s] They look kind of just sleepy glazed over and he goes back to sleep. [1133.0s] So you're inside this room now. [1135.0s] It's a very dark room. [1136.0s] Cool. [1137.0s] Yep. [1138.0s] No windows. [1139.0s] No torches. [1140.0s] Do you have dark vision? [1141.0s] I don't think I have dark vision. [1143.0s] The only races that don't are halflings and dragonborn and humans. [1146.0s] All right. [1147.0s] Perfect. [1148.0s] So you don't have dark vision. [1149.0s] So you are in a dark room. [1150.0s] I don't have dark vision either. [1151.0s] You don't? [1152.0s] No. [1153.0s] I always assume reptilian things do for some reason. [1157.0s] You know what? [1158.0s] I just have to check my information about what I previously think about different races. [1162.0s] It's true. [1163.0s] So what are you doing while you're in here? [1164.0s] I'm going to... [1166.0s] Immediately kind of to the side. [1167.0s] You can feel like a wooden shelf as you kind of brushed by. [1171.0s] In my thief's tools, is there like a... [1174.0s] Do you have like a traveler's pack or something with a tinder? [1177.0s] Probably with all of her other stuff. [1179.0s] Oh, right. [1180.0s] I probably don't have that. [1181.0s] So what I'm going to do is I'm just going to feel around a little bit and just kind [1185.0s] of see what, if anything, feels like weapon-y. [1188.0s] Because I don't have a weapon on me, and neither do you. [1191.0s] So if we get into a fight hand-to-hand, I'm going to get pummeled. [1195.0s] You're not maybe the... [1197.0s] I'm being racist now. [1198.0s] I suspect you're not the best hand-to-hand fighter. [1202.0s] Maybe against other halflings. [1203.0s] You're a real fucking brute. [1204.0s] That's right. [1205.0s] Okay. [1206.0s] So I've got a list of ten things in this room. [1210.0s] So we're going to see... [1211.0s] Seven of them will kill you. [1213.0s] Ten. [1214.0s] So you come to... [1216.0s] You're kind of feeling the shelves and you pick up what feels like just a stone. [1221.0s] Let's go kill somebody. [1223.0s] I put it in my pocket. [1227.0s] I continue to feel around. [1229.0s] Glim, what are you doing out in the hall? [1232.0s] I think I'm just waiting because this is all pretty happening pretty quickly, but [1236.0s] I am getting nervous. [1239.0s] Make a perception check. [1242.0s] Oh, Nat 20. [1243.0s] I see everything now. [1245.0s] You hear from down to the left what sounds like somebody stand up. [1249.0s] Kind of sounds like it's coming from the guard chambers, and you hear footsteps [1252.0s] moving towards that door. [1257.0s] Solly? [1260.0s] Solly? [1261.0s] What? [1262.0s] Someone's... [1263.0s] The guard at the door grumbles and stirs. [1267.0s] Someone's coming. [1270.0s] Okay, okay, okay, okay. [1272.0s] I move faster and I touch something else. [1274.0s] You find a bag that feels very familiar. [1279.0s] Oh, I pick up the familiar bag and put it around my... [1282.0s] It feels like a satchel, right? [1284.0s] Yeah. [1285.0s] A pageboy bag that no one would make fun of because it's totally manly enough, [1289.0s] definitely not a purse. [1290.0s] Yes. [1291.0s] Okay, I put that on and then I carefully make my way to the door again. [1295.0s] Okay. [1296.0s] You're feeling for anything else or you're just making your way to the door? [1298.0s] Well, I obviously feel on my way to the door. [1300.0s] Okay. [1301.0s] I'll give you one more here. [1303.0s] Who walks through the middle of a dark room. [1305.0s] I mean, you'd be feeling, exactly. [1308.0s] You couldn't help but feel. [1310.0s] So you run your hands along, you come to something that feels like a book. [1314.0s] I just put it in my bag, just natural thief instinct. [1318.0s] You come to something that is kind of leathery and as you pick it up, [1324.0s] it feels like it could be a wine skin or a water skin. [1327.0s] I take that too. [1329.0s] And you also find what feels like a long metal cylinder that's kind of knobs on it. [1338.0s] That one's definitely going up your butt. [1340.0s] Yeah. [1341.0s] Is it an elbow? [1342.0s] I remember it suggestively, something like this. [1345.0s] And then I put it into my bag. [1348.0s] That's patron content only to see what I did. [1351.0s] Although you all have imagination. [1353.0s] I mean, you can sit together pretty easy. [1356.0s] Okay, so you're back at the door. [1358.0s] You open the door and you see light come out down the hallway from the guard's chambers [1365.0s] and a silhouette of a guard is kind of standing at the door making his way out of the room. [1371.0s] I quickly like, you know, power walk. [1377.0s] Do you close the door behind you? [1379.0s] Does it squeak? [1381.0s] It didn't squeak as much when you were closing it. [1384.0s] Okay, no, then I will slowly close it. [1387.0s] Okay, and you're going back down to where Glim is? [1389.0s] Yep. [1390.0s] Okay, make a stealth check. [1395.0s] 18, no. [1397.0s] 16, I always look at the wrong number. [1399.0s] You make it back around the corner to where Glim is [1402.0s] and you hear footsteps come out and the door close [1405.0s] and begin to walk back down towards Ms. Mam-Meow-Meow's office. [1409.0s] So away from us. [1410.0s] So away from you. [1411.0s] Moot! [1414.0s] Look! [1415.0s] You had gone off to find a getaway vehicle, if I do remember correctly. [1420.0s] Yes, Gabriel on, yeah. [1422.0s] You and Gabriel are standing there and he says, [1425.0s] So, you think one of these will work? [1430.0s] Yeah, I mean, they all... [1432.0s] Is there a way to tell which one's going to be better than another? [1436.0s] Well, how big are your friends? [1439.0s] Because we'll probably just want to hide them in the back and we can, you know... [1444.0s] Well, I mean, Glim is a Dragonborn, so she's pretty big. [1450.0s] I don't know about the other person, though. [1454.0s] Well, let's assume they're both the same size. [1456.0s] OK. [1457.0s] That way we would just really make sure that we've got enough room. [1460.0s] That's a good idea. [1461.0s] Yeah. [1462.0s] Error on the side of caution. [1464.0s] He kind of looks around and he says, [1467.0s] You got any... you fluid with the... with monetary... fluid? [1475.0s] You got... you got change? Coin? [1479.0s] Is he asking you for fluids or is he asking you for money? [1483.0s] I've got a little bit of money. [1486.0s] How much... probably enough to get one of these, hey? [1490.0s] Sure. Yeah, let's go ask. [1494.0s] Is there like a kiosk or...? [1498.0s] I want to hear some awesome bartering. [1500.0s] Do not take the first price they give you. [1502.0s] You begin to walk kind of through this pathway of carriages more towards the stable area [1509.0s] where you see many different horses [1512.0s] and you see a stable boy kind of sweeping up [1517.0s] and back to you as you are walking up. [1521.0s] You there, boy. [1524.0s] I want to rent one of these carriages. [1526.0s] He kind of jumps and startles. [1528.0s] Oh, sorry, I didn't hear you coming up there. [1532.0s] Well, OK. [1535.0s] Most of these are already peoples, but... [1541.0s] I mean, is there one that maybe isn't already rented? [1544.0s] I mean, there's the one owned by the... [1547.0s] How long do you need it for? [1549.0s] Oh, just like a couple hours. [1552.0s] Real quick, like two hours maybe. [1554.0s] Right. OK. [1556.0s] Well, I mean, if you could... [1560.0s] I really shouldn't be doing this. [1562.0s] So there's the one that the master owns. [1566.0s] Doesn't ride it very often lately, [1569.0s] but if you could have it back like before sunrise, [1574.0s] I could probably swing a pretty good deal on it. [1577.0s] Uh, yeah, I don't see why not. [1579.0s] We could definitely do that. [1581.0s] Cool, cool. All right. [1582.0s] So where are your horses? [1583.0s] I could hook it up for you. [1585.0s] Oh, we need horses too. [1587.0s] I thought they came with the carriage. [1591.0s] OK. [1593.0s] Pure soul. [1594.0s] Look, how much you got for me here? [1597.0s] Because this is like... [1599.0s] This is really above and beyond what I'm supposed to be doing. [1602.0s] Uh, geez, I don't even know what this normally costs. [1606.0s] Well, I mean, we got some... [1609.0s] There's some very good carriages here. [1611.0s] Probably 10 gold for the carriage. [1614.0s] It's probably a pretty good rate. [1617.0s] Does that include the horses? [1619.0s] Well, then the horses... [1620.0s] It depends on what kind of horses you want on top of that. [1623.0s] I would like living horses. [1626.0s] Fair enough. [1629.0s] This is...this is...this is Bessie. [1633.0s] She really could pull any of these carriages, [1637.0s] and he motions his hand towards what looks like [1640.0s] the oldest and sickliest horse in this whole place. [1646.0s] Uh, Bessie's not looking so good. [1649.0s] Is there...are there any other options? [1652.0s] Don't let looks fool you, my friend. [1654.0s] Bessie has been around for a long time. [1657.0s] She's seen a lot of things. [1659.0s] She's pulled a lot of carriages. [1661.0s] She just goes into just auto-pilot, as they say. [1665.0s] Auto carriage driving. [1667.0s] I've never heard that before. [1668.0s] Auto... [1670.0s] She just...she just goes. [1673.0s] Like, what are you... [1674.0s] You're not doing any, like, off-roading, are you? [1676.0s] Going through sweet mud bogs? [1678.0s] Well, I mean, not to my knowledge, [1680.0s] but you never know what's going to be out on the road. [1683.0s] How far out on the road are you going? [1686.0s] Well, I don't know. [1688.0s] Somewhere where we'll be back in a couple of hours. [1690.0s] Very shifty. Very shifty, friend. [1693.0s] Okay, I can...I can one-up you. [1696.0s] I can...I can give you this lovely stallion here. [1700.0s] This is a very beautiful horse. [1703.0s] You know what? [1704.0s] Because I like the cut of your jib. [1706.0s] Probably I could give it to you for, like, [1708.0s] seven gold all-in. [1710.0s] So the horse and the carriage for seven gold. [1713.0s] All-in. [1716.0s] I look back at Gabriel. [1718.0s] Kind of like, hmm? [1720.0s] He's taking a sip from his flask. [1723.0s] Does he make me any sort of gesture or anything? [1727.0s] He kind of catches your eye as he's drinking [1729.0s] and he puts it down his... [1730.0s] You doing good over there? [1732.0s] Yeah, I think so. [1733.0s] I think, I mean, we only really have, like, [1735.0s] the three gold or the... [1737.0s] Well, I guess a fourth. [1739.0s] Yeah, I think we have the four gold. [1742.0s] So I don't really think we can do the seven. [1744.0s] I guess we'll have to go somewhere else. [1747.0s] Look, okay, you got four gold? [1750.0s] Yeah. [1751.0s] Okay, you give me the four gold. [1754.0s] It's like it never happened. [1756.0s] I mean, you gotta bring the carriage back. [1758.0s] Well, yeah, I mean, that's the deal. [1760.0s] Let's just keep it under the table, [1762.0s] if you know what I'm saying. [1764.0s] Okay, so the four gold, [1766.0s] and then we're all good to go. [1768.0s] Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. [1770.0s] You know, these are trying times. [1772.0s] This is really just putting a wrinkle [1774.0s] in our business, but you know what? [1776.0s] I like you. [1777.0s] I think that we're gonna be best of friends [1780.0s] after this deal. [1782.0s] Oh, I hope so. [1783.0s] It's always good to have a lot of friends. [1785.0s] Yeah, yeah. [1786.0s] He extends his hand towards you. [1789.0s] And Moot attempts to do, like, [1792.0s] the handshake with the money in it [1794.0s] that he's seen before, [1796.0s] and he pops the money all over the ground. [1798.0s] I was gonna make you do a sleight of hand-shake. [1800.0s] You could do it. [1801.0s] I just don't think he'll be able to pull it off. [1803.0s] It's something he's seen done, [1805.0s] but he's never tried to do. [1806.0s] But I'll give it a roll. [1807.0s] Sure. [1808.0s] It's always a chance. [1809.0s] Maybe he's a natural cool guy. [1811.0s] I mean, maybe. [1812.0s] He did roll a 15. [1813.0s] Oh, damn. [1815.0s] You go in with your, [1817.0s] you're palming these four gold. [1819.0s] Now, is this four gold, [1821.0s] or is this, like, three gold [1823.0s] and a whole bunch of silver pieces? [1824.0s] Three gold and several silver pieces. [1827.0s] So the three golds stay in your hand, [1830.0s] but as you go to shake his hand, [1831.0s] those silver pieces, like, [1832.0s] clang out down to the ground. [1834.0s] It's like smooth, smooth, smooth. [1838.0s] Sorry? [1839.0s] Takes the three gold [1840.0s] and kind of picks up the silvers [1842.0s] and puts them into his pocket. [1843.0s] He's like, all right, [1844.0s] let me just, you know, [1845.0s] saddle up your horse here [1847.0s] and hook you up with sweet carriage. [1850.0s] Need a lot of trunk space? [1852.0s] I mean, decent amount of trunk space, sure. [1855.0s] He leans in, he's like, [1856.0s] how many dead bodies [1857.0s] are you putting in the back? [1859.0s] Oh, no, it's nothing. [1860.0s] Nothing, two. [1861.0s] It's nothing like that. [1863.0s] Got it. [1864.0s] Gives you a big wink. [1866.0s] Gabriel and you go back out to the front [1869.0s] to wait for it to come. [1871.0s] He shoots Gabriel, like, [1872.0s] a little, like, tentative, like, [1874.0s] thumbs up like I did good. [1877.0s] Nailed it, boy. Nailed it. [1882.0s] Welcome back to the middle. [1893.0s] All of us, all the ladies [1895.0s] say welcome back to the middle. [1897.0s] OK. [1900.0s] That's it. [1901.0s] They just said welcome back to the middle [1902.0s] and now we're here. [1966.0s] Miss Mam Meow Meow? [1967.0s] Named by Kavin. [1968.0s] Miss Mam Meow Meow [1969.0s] has actually changed my life in real life [1972.0s] because my future mother-in-law has two cats. [2028.0s] Three women are embroiled [2030.0s] in a divine plot, [2032.0s] and it is up to them [2034.0s] to uncover why. [2037.0s] Join the adventures of the broadswords [2039.0s] at the broadswords.com. [2047.0s] Glim and Sully are back down [2049.0s] the hallway just kind of around the corner [2051.0s] to where you came. [2052.0s] You heard footsteps moving back down [2054.0s] towards Ms. Man-Meow-Meow's office, [2056.0s] or you were hearing them move back [2058.0s] towards Ms. Man-Meow-Meow's office. [2059.0s] What are you doing? [2060.0s] I take my little mirror [2061.0s] and I look around the corner [2062.0s] to see if he goes inside [2064.0s] Ms. Man-Meow-Meow's office, [2066.0s] or is just hanging out outside [2068.0s] in the hall or what. [2069.0s] It's kind of a far way down there, [2071.0s] and you see a lot of shadows cast, [2073.0s] but from what you can tell [2074.0s] is the door doesn't open down there, [2077.0s] and rather you see a shadowy figure [2079.0s] standing guard down [2081.0s] at the end of the hallway. [2083.0s] Yeah, all right. [2084.0s] So there's like this guy. [2086.0s] There's a guy down there. [2088.0s] So, um... [2092.0s] Roll an investigation check [2093.0s] as you're having this discussion. [2097.0s] Nineteen. [2098.0s] Oh, thank God. [2100.0s] My investigation is a ten. [2104.0s] Sully has kind of positioned himself [2106.0s] back further down the hallway [2108.0s] from you, Glim, [2109.0s] and you can see that [2111.0s] down the hallway from you, Glim, [2113.0s] and you catch down towards [2116.0s] where the door that you came out of, [2118.0s] down towards the cells, [2120.0s] in the floor you see a dim light [2122.0s] coming up in the corner [2124.0s] beyond the door where you came out. [2126.0s] Hey, hey, Sully, [2128.0s] what about that? [2130.0s] What about what? [2131.0s] There must be something over there. [2132.0s] Do you see there's like [2133.0s] a little bit of light coming [2134.0s] from under a door or something? [2136.0s] Why don't we go see what that is? [2138.0s] There's so many guards out here. [2140.0s] Okay, sounds good. [2142.0s] When we, because we'll walk back [2143.0s] past that window, will we? [2145.0s] You're standing right in front of the window. [2147.0s] Can I also investigate, [2148.0s] like is it an opening window [2150.0s] or is it just a window? [2152.0s] Just like a big picture window. [2153.0s] Oh, jeez. [2154.0s] Hopefully no guards are looking in. [2156.0s] Yeah, right. [2157.0s] We're just standing in front of the window. [2158.0s] Well, you're back a little bit, [2159.0s] but essentially it's like [2160.0s] if you're walking towards [2161.0s] the way you were going, [2162.0s] it's right in front of you. [2163.0s] Oh, okay. [2164.0s] Yeah. [2165.0s] Okay. [2167.0s] Let's go see. [2169.0s] Yeah, all right. [2171.0s] As you are kind of feeling around, [2174.0s] the whole floor is like stonework [2177.0s] and then you get to that point [2178.0s] and you see light peering up [2180.0s] through some of these stones [2182.0s] and you feel it and it feels like [2185.0s] wood made to look like stone. [2188.0s] I crouch down and I touch [2189.0s] and I'm like, [2190.0s] wow, the craftsmanship. [2193.0s] And I guess we like, [2195.0s] do you want me to investigate it [2196.0s] to see if there's like [2197.0s] a pole ring or something? [2200.0s] Can I also do that? [2201.0s] Absolutely. [2202.0s] Well, I rolled a one, [2204.0s] so I would like it if you did that. [2207.0s] So you're looking around [2208.0s] and suddenly you find [2210.0s] on either side of it, [2211.0s] there's a bit of a groove [2213.0s] that feels like you could lift it [2215.0s] if you wanted to. [2217.0s] Or I could get someone stronger [2219.0s] than you to lift it. [2221.0s] Hey, strong girl. [2225.0s] Yeah? [2226.0s] Give me a hand with this. [2228.0s] Okay. [2230.0s] And I lift it up [2231.0s] with my beefy arms. [2234.0s] You do so. [2235.0s] Wait, I lift it up [2236.0s] with my beefy legs? [2238.0s] Not my back. [2239.0s] That's the bad way, right? [2240.0s] What's the good way? [2241.0s] Yeah, lift with your legs. [2242.0s] Not with my back. [2243.0s] There we go. [2244.0s] Yes, with proper posture, [2245.0s] you bend down, [2246.0s] lift it up. [2247.0s] Just a deep squat lift. [2248.0s] It's much lighter [2249.0s] than you had anticipated [2251.0s] and it comes right up. [2254.0s] It is just wood. [2258.0s] No, but it comes up [2259.0s] and it's on a hinge [2261.0s] and there are stairs [2263.0s] going down below [2266.0s] and there is a dim light [2268.0s] coming up from those stairs. [2270.0s] I have a good warm feeling [2271.0s] about this. [2272.0s] Let's go. [2274.0s] I don't think we have a choice. [2275.0s] Let's go. [2277.0s] We go down the stairs. [2278.0s] That's what it feels like. [2279.0s] And I close the thing behind us. [2281.0s] Everybody make a stealth check. [2283.0s] Uh-oh. [2284.0s] Entering a new area. [2286.0s] Eighteen. [2288.0s] Okay, here we go, guys. [2292.0s] Twelve. [2294.0s] It's not terrible. [2295.0s] It's not the worst it could have been. [2296.0s] Sully zips down there [2298.0s] pretty quickly making [2299.0s] not much noise. [2300.0s] Glim you as you're lowering [2302.0s] the door behind you. [2303.0s] It kind of fuds shut [2305.0s] a little louder than you had wished. [2308.0s] I stop and I look back up at her. [2311.0s] I make a face like, sorry. [2316.0s] You go down a flight of stairs. [2319.0s] It's twenty feet down [2323.0s] and there is a long corridor [2326.0s] with torchlight all along. [2328.0s] Make a perception check [2330.0s] as you wake your way down here. [2332.0s] Perception. [2333.0s] Fourteen. [2335.0s] Nine. [2337.0s] I blew it all on that 120. [2338.0s] Everything else has been below ten. [2340.0s] It's a very musty feel. [2342.0s] There are cobwebs all along the walls. [2345.0s] It looks like it's not used [2346.0s] as a high traffic area, [2348.0s] but Sully you do see some [2350.0s] pretty recent footprints. [2352.0s] It's kind of the sandy dirt [2354.0s] that is down along the floor. [2356.0s] Down at the end of the hallway [2357.0s] you see a door which is [2359.0s] cracked open slightly [2361.0s] with more light emanating from inside. [2363.0s] Does she have a tail? [2364.0s] Do you have a tail? [2365.0s] In the image she does have a tail. [2367.0s] Dragonborn generally do not have tails, [2369.0s] but Glim is special. [2371.0s] You have a tail, Glim? [2373.0s] Well, hey, if it's in the pictures. [2375.0s] It's in the pictures. [2376.0s] Yes. [2377.0s] I lean over and I go, [2379.0s] hey, can you do a little sweep sweep [2381.0s] our footprints with your tail? [2384.0s] Sure. [2386.0s] Yeah, okay. [2387.0s] Alright. [2389.0s] I'm thinking. [2390.0s] I'm stealthy. [2392.0s] I don't want someone to be like, [2393.0s] oh, they're down here. [2394.0s] There's two new sets of footprints. [2395.0s] One giant, one tiny. [2397.0s] Hi. [2402.0s] You make it down to the end of the hallway. [2404.0s] Make a perception check. [2407.0s] Oh, no. [2408.0s] One. [2409.0s] Not a nat one. [2410.0s] It's a two. [2411.0s] We're such a good team. [2413.0s] What did you roll? [2415.0s] I rolled a 19 and I have a plus one. [2418.0s] Both sides of the spectrum here. [2420.0s] Sully, you get to the door. [2421.0s] You feel it's totally fine. [2423.0s] Glim, as you see Sully begin to [2426.0s] make his way to the door [2428.0s] and possibly going through it, [2430.0s] you hear muffled whispers from beyond. [2435.0s] Is Sully in front of me? [2437.0s] Yes. [2438.0s] Okay, I'm going to kind of like, [2439.0s] grab him. [2440.0s] Hey, whoa, watch the merchandise. [2444.0s] Don't you hear that? [2447.0s] Sully puts his ear up to the door. [2450.0s] You now hear that there's a low conversation [2453.0s] going on beyond the door. [2455.0s] You can't quite make out exactly what they're saying, [2457.0s] but you can tell that there are two distinct voices. [2460.0s] Are there any other doors? [2463.0s] No, you're at the end of the hallway. [2465.0s] There's just the one door. [2470.0s] Well, we got two choices. [2473.0s] We can go through here [2476.0s] and meet a couple people. [2481.0s] Could be fun. [2483.0s] Or we go back upstairs [2486.0s] and meet that one guard. [2490.0s] Two guards at least. [2491.0s] I can guarantee that's not going to be fun. [2494.0s] I say we try with these folks. [2498.0s] Do you want to go first? [2499.0s] You got that intimidation thing going on. [2501.0s] Yeah, I'll go first. [2502.0s] I'll watch your back. [2504.0s] Thanks, Sully. [2506.0s] So I'm going to open the door briskly. [2512.0s] Please tell me it opens out into the room. [2515.0s] Can she Van Damme this door in? [2518.0s] No, just like I'm in a hurry [2520.0s] and I'm looking for something. [2523.0s] Cool. [2525.0s] Okay, you swing the door open [2527.0s] and at quick glance you are surrounded by a bunch of boxes. [2532.0s] Dusty old wooden boxes, more cobwebs. [2534.0s] It looks like you're in a bit of a store room. [2537.0s] Through a winding path [2539.0s] that leads to the other side of the room, [2541.0s] there is another door [2544.0s] where you can hear the voices a little stronger. [2547.0s] Oh, I blew my entrance. [2550.0s] Wasted your dramatic entrance. [2553.0s] There's no other doors? [2555.0s] No, it's just the one door. [2556.0s] This looks like, yeah, it was a store room. [2558.0s] That would explain why we couldn't hear what they were saying [2560.0s] even though we were beside an ajar door. [2563.0s] They were on the other side. [2567.0s] I look inside some of the boxes and it's like, [2569.0s] it'd be great for lininaries, you know? [2572.0s] So yeah, lots of fabrics, spices. [2574.0s] It looks like this is, [2577.0s] if you were a betting person, [2580.0s] it looks like goods that were taken from different ships. [2585.0s] Confiscated goods. [2587.0s] Confiscated goods, contraband. [2589.0s] This is the teacher's drawer that has all the fun student stuff in it. [2593.0s] It's got the bouncy balls, it's got the cell phones, yo-yos. [2596.0s] That rubber band that one kid keeps wrapping around his hand [2599.0s] and shooting like a little gun. [2601.0s] Yeah. [2603.0s] Is there anything I can take in here, Valya? [2606.0s] Are there any weapons? [2608.0s] I actually say, hold on a second, [2610.0s] and I look inside my bag. [2612.0s] I grab stuff in a dark room and I never looked at it. [2615.0s] So I take out the long cylindrical thing [2619.0s] and it is a? [2621.0s] It's a flute. [2624.0s] Potato, potato. [2626.0s] A little tarnished in, [2628.0s] its patina is a little tarnished, but it is a flute. [2631.0s] Also, there's a, [2634.0s] it looks like a wine skin, [2636.0s] and as you feel it, it feels like it's about half empty. [2639.0s] I said you took the book. [2642.0s] As you look at it, it says fairy tales. [2646.0s] And as you kind of skim through, [2649.0s] can you give me a history check? [2655.0s] Nineteen. [2657.0s] I know my history. [2659.0s] So as you kind of skim through, [2661.0s] you see some inconsistencies in the stories, [2663.0s] and it looks like rather than fairy tales as you know them, [2666.0s] it's tales fairies tell about humans. [2668.0s] Oh. [2670.0s] You also look at the stone, [2672.0s] and it's just a gray stone. [2674.0s] Do I notice any carvings or anything on the flute? [2677.0s] Magical. [2679.0s] Nothing really exceptional, no? [2681.0s] Neat. [2683.0s] And you, sorry, are you looking at boxes? [2685.0s] Everybody make an investigation check if you're looking at boxes. [2688.0s] I would like to, I'm specifically looking for some weapons, [2691.0s] because I, we have a rock and a flute and a book. [2697.0s] And if I'm looking at the investigation, [2699.0s] I've only rolled a 12. [2701.0s] I also rolled a 12 this time. [2703.0s] Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. [2706.0s] By cool, you mean like desperately mediocre. [2708.0s] We find a slightly bigger rock. [2710.0s] It's a sharp rock. [2712.0s] I find a rock. It was actually the rock I already had. [2716.0s] You put it down, and then you're like, look at this! [2720.0s] No, so yeah, definitely fabrics, spices. [2723.0s] Looks like some different plant-based goods that aren't spices, but... [2731.0s] Herbs. [2733.0s] Herbs, something. [2735.0s] Nothing that you really directly recognize exactly. [2739.0s] There doesn't appear to be any weapons in this. [2744.0s] Different textiles, clothes, that sort of thing. [2747.0s] Mostly just common trade goods. [2750.0s] Are there torches on the wall? [2754.0s] In this room, yeah. [2756.0s] Are they removable? [2758.0s] Yep. There are two. There's one at each door. [2762.0s] Hey, Glim, would you hand me one of those? [2765.0s] I assume I can't reach it. [2767.0s] Not comfortably, no. [2769.0s] Sure. [2771.0s] And I grab one, and I want to listen outside the door [2774.0s] to see if I can hear what they're saying. [2776.0s] Yes. [2777.0s] So I get one, and I give it to Sully. [2779.0s] Okay, you hand it to Sully, [2781.0s] and you kind of press your ear to the door, [2783.0s] and you hear a voice you recognize in Ms. Mam-Meow-Meow's voice [2789.0s] as she is kind of finishing up a conversation [2792.0s] with this other person that you don't recognize [2795.0s] in the little that they speak. [2797.0s] And she says, [2798.0s] Well, the meeting tomorrow is going to go really well. [2800.0s] We got the book now, and everything will just come together. [2803.0s] It's going to be great. I just can't wait for it. [2807.0s] And then you hear a door close [2809.0s] with some footsteps and a door close. [2812.0s] Oh. [2814.0s] How many sets of footsteps do I hear? [2816.0s] Two. [2817.0s] Oh, okay. [2819.0s] Great. [2821.0s] This is good news. [2822.0s] It means there's another door. [2823.0s] I'm very excited that we're trapped in a maze. [2827.0s] Yeah. [2828.0s] A dungeon maze. [2829.0s] He's trying to trick us. [2830.0s] It's a basement. [2831.0s] It's a dungeon maze. [2833.0s] Let's cut back to moot here real quick. [2836.0s] You guys are standing outside. [2838.0s] You and Gabriel are standing outside of this stable, [2842.0s] and the stable boy comes and pulls the horse [2846.0s] and carriage out and says, [2848.0s] Here you go. [2849.0s] Thanks for doing business. [2850.0s] Remember, please have it back by morning. [2853.0s] Yeah. [2854.0s] Oh, yeah. [2855.0s] No problem. [2856.0s] We'll have it back for you. [2857.0s] Beautiful. Beautiful. [2858.0s] I love doing business with you. [2859.0s] Thank you so much. [2860.0s] And remember to tip your waitresses when you see them. [2863.0s] I don't know. [2864.0s] They just said that maybe I should say that kind of just [2867.0s] rapport and stuff. [2869.0s] Is there a waitress that comes with the carriage? [2872.0s] I don't understand. [2873.0s] You know, it's a hospitality industry thing. [2876.0s] We're attached to just an inn. [2880.0s] I'm going to talk to them about it tomorrow. [2882.0s] Maybe I got to find a different catchphrase. [2886.0s] Keep your horses watered. [2889.0s] Oh, that's just good advice. [2890.0s] I'll definitely do that. [2891.0s] Perfect. Good. [2892.0s] I'm going to write that one down. [2893.0s] And he writes it. [2894.0s] He pulls out a notebook and he writes it down. [2896.0s] Oh, I have one of those. [2898.0s] A notebook? [2899.0s] They are going to be best friends. [2900.0s] Great. [2901.0s] I love notebooks. [2902.0s] You always keep track of everything that you absolutely need to know. [2912.0s] Silence. [2913.0s] I thought there was a little moment we had there. [2917.0s] That's OK. [2918.0s] I'll just go back to cleaning the horses. [2919.0s] All good. [2920.0s] See you by morning. [2922.0s] OK. [2925.0s] So I see Gabriel over there and I say, OK, we need to make some room for our [2931.0s] guests. [2932.0s] Yeah. [2933.0s] Make some room. [2935.0s] Do we need some blankets? [2937.0s] What do you suggest here? [2938.0s] Yeah, we should probably get something to cover them up. [2941.0s] Yeah, I want to have it ready for them when they show up. [2944.0s] I haven't done a jailbreak in a while. [2945.0s] All right, hop in. [2946.0s] Let's go. [2947.0s] Maybe we'll go back to... [2949.0s] I don't know. [2950.0s] How long do you think we have? [2951.0s] We've been here for a little while, I feel like. [2954.0s] I don't know. [2955.0s] I mean... [2956.0s] Hey, stable boy, you got any blankets? [2958.0s] Blankets? [2959.0s] Blankets? [2960.0s] That's going to be an extra goal. [2961.0s] Fuck it. [2962.0s] We'll be fine. [2963.0s] We'll... [2964.0s] Don't worry. [2966.0s] Nobody's going to look. [2967.0s] It's dark. [2968.0s] It's nighttime. [2969.0s] We'll figure it out. [2970.0s] I mean, considering the horse and the carriage cost four altogether, one for blankets [2975.0s] seems exorbitant. [2976.0s] It's steep. [2977.0s] It's steep. [2978.0s] I'm not going to give these guys a good rating, I don't think. [2982.0s] A bad yelp? [2983.0s] Yeah. [2984.0s] Yeah. [2985.0s] It's just called yell and you just walk through the streets just screaming, [2988.0s] Don't buy from these people. [2990.0s] Bad horses. [2991.0s] Maybe we'll do that in the morning and we'll see how it goes. [2996.0s] All right, hop aboard. [2999.0s] All right, where are we off to? [3001.0s] I don't know. [3002.0s] We're going to go kind of just circle around the jail. [3006.0s] Yep, that makes sense. [3008.0s] I mean... [3009.0s] I mean, that's where they're going to come out, somewhere around the jail. [3012.0s] Yeah, it could be anywhere there, so yeah, I guess just always be on the move, [3015.0s] hey? [3016.0s] That's right. [3017.0s] Never sit in one place for too long. [3020.0s] He climbs up in, are you coming? [3023.0s] Yeah, let's do this. [3026.0s] All right, he hands you the reins. [3028.0s] Oh, boy. [3029.0s] Any pointers? [3032.0s] He points forward. [3037.0s] Okay. [3038.0s] Make an animal handling check. [3043.0s] Was it wisdom? [3045.0s] That would be animal handling. [3049.0s] Thanks, Ravis. [3052.0s] It's an 11. [3055.0s] So you tell me what you do to try and get this horse moving. [3058.0s] I kind of just try to do what I've seen other people do when they've been driving carriages and horses, [3065.0s] and I kind of just like give the old kind of, what would you even call that? [3071.0s] Like snapping the reins? [3073.0s] Yeah, there we go. [3074.0s] I like snap the reins a little bit. [3076.0s] Bit of a snap and the horse kind of looks back at you. [3080.0s] And I just, I look at the horse and go, I don't know, help me out here. [3084.0s] The horse looks forward like it knows what to do and it just starts walking down the street. [3089.0s] You're making your way back to the jail. [3094.0s] Sully, what are you doing with your torch? [3097.0s] I am going to use it as a weapon if need be. [3102.0s] I'm going to burn some motherfuckers. [3104.0s] Cool. [3105.0s] All right. [3107.0s] What the fuck? [3118.0s] What did she say? [3126.0s] Some people don't deserve happiness. [3128.0s] All right, let's go. [3131.0s] Oh, boy. [3133.0s] Okay, yeah, let's go. [3135.0s] So you're going into the room where Ms. Mamiya was previously? [3139.0s] I have a feeling that this is going to come up into her office. [3142.0s] I mean, maybe, but it's a door at least. [3145.0s] That's what I feel like. [3147.0s] We're at least walking somewhere. [3149.0s] You're right. [3150.0s] We're not just standing in a hallway hoping that somebody leaves. [3153.0s] So are you just kicking open the door again or are you going stealthily? [3157.0s] I didn't kick it last time. [3158.0s] I had a whole plan, but now the people left. [3160.0s] So I can't even do anything except open the door like a normal Dragonborn, [3165.0s] which is probably more aggressively than a normal person. [3168.0s] It's true. [3169.0s] You open the door and it opens into an illuminated, [3173.0s] what looks like a conference room of sorts. [3176.0s] There's a podium up at the front. [3178.0s] There are many rows of chairs. [3181.0s] There are red drapes and tapestries hung from the walls. [3186.0s] And then behind the podium, you see a large symbol. [3190.0s] And it is of an eye that looks like it has little horns coming off of the eye. [3196.0s] And it has what looks like either it looks like beadwork kind of coming down from the eye. [3205.0s] Hey, Sol, you ever seen anything like that before? [3208.0s] Have I ever seen anything like that before? [3210.0s] Both of you can make a history check. [3213.0s] I think Glim doesn't if she's asking you, but you're more than welcome to. [3217.0s] I do have 10. [3219.0s] 13. [3220.0s] Neither of you probably would recognize this symbol. [3224.0s] Not even with my time and the... [3226.0s] But I don't think you've spent much time in Neverwinter, have you? [3229.0s] No, I thought maybe if they were related to the cults. [3232.0s] Oh, yeah, definitely no relation to the cult. [3235.0s] You know that for certain or with the... [3237.0s] But it does seem like... [3239.0s] Seems cult-y. [3240.0s] Yeah, some kind of like... [3242.0s] Some organization. [3244.0s] I know, I've never seen this before, but it doesn't look good. [3248.0s] No, hmm. [3250.0s] That Ms. MeowMeowMeow is... [3252.0s] She's so shady. We gotta get out of here. [3255.0s] Yeah, she's a piece of work. [3257.0s] Is there just the one door? [3259.0s] There is just the one door. [3261.0s] Well, two doors, I guess. We came in one. [3263.0s] You came in one. One off to the left. [3265.0s] So the podium's straight ahead. [3267.0s] One off to the left. [3269.0s] Let's do an investigation check as you kind of go through this room. [3273.0s] Twelve. [3274.0s] Sixteen. [3276.0s] In traditional Sully fashion, you kind of do a quick scan of the room, [3280.0s] and you actually see up on the podium as you kind of round the corner. [3284.0s] You couldn't see it from the other side because it was slanted, [3288.0s] but you see the book that you stole. [3291.0s] Oh. [3293.0s] I go over and I pick it up and I show Glim and I'm like, [3297.0s] looky, looky what I found. [3300.0s] And I put it into my satchel. [3302.0s] All right. Are you moving towards the second door? [3305.0s] Yep. [3306.0s] You get to it. It is closed. [3309.0s] As you try it, it is locked. [3312.0s] I got this. [3314.0s] Thieves tools. [3316.0s] Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch. [3318.0s] Oh, Jesus. [3320.0s] I imagine that that's what you do when you're doing your thing. [3324.0s] Thieves tools. [3328.0s] It's only, it's light of hand, right? [3330.0s] Yes. [3331.0s] It's only a 16. [3333.0s] Yeah, that's been fine so far. [3335.0s] It unlocks and the door, you open it and crack, [3339.0s] and you feel a cold breeze come in from the outside [3344.0s] as it opens up into the courtyard. [3347.0s] Oh, that's nice. [3348.0s] I haven't breathed fresh air since, [3352.0s] well, I guess yesterday, but okay, let's go. [3357.0s] Is the courtyard in the center of the prison? [3360.0s] No, when you're in the prison, it's just prison air, you guys. [3364.0s] The air is better out there. It's freer. [3366.0s] I'm genuinely asking, is the prison like a square [3368.0s] and we're in the middle of it now? [3370.0s] No, no, no, it's not. [3372.0s] So we're like actually outside the compound. [3374.0s] You are outside of the building. [3376.0s] Okay. [3377.0s] It opens up into the courtyard. [3379.0s] There are large fences that run the perimeter [3383.0s] that you can see of the courtyard. [3385.0s] We're in the exercise pad. [3387.0s] Yeah. [3388.0s] Okay. [3389.0s] How tall are the fences? [3391.0s] 12 feet tall. [3393.0s] Okay. [3394.0s] Hey, you think you can throw me over one of those fences? [3396.0s] I was just going to suggest that. [3398.0s] I could throw you, is it like a thick wall? [3404.0s] Can we tell if it's a big stone wall? [3406.0s] Is it chain link? [3407.0s] Yeah, you kind of knock at it [3409.0s] and you feel like it's a thicker stone wall probably, you know, [3413.0s] based on the fact that both of you have, you know, [3416.0s] walked by it in some way, shape, or form. [3418.0s] It's probably about three feet. [3420.0s] Okay. [3421.0s] How tall are you? [3423.0s] Three feet, five inches. [3426.0s] I think I can just hold you up over my head [3428.0s] and if you reach your hands up, you can reach the top [3431.0s] because I'm six and a half feet tall, [3433.0s] so my arms would be like... [3434.0s] Six, nine, 12, yeah, you'd be able to. [3436.0s] Right? [3437.0s] I'll give you a little boost up. [3438.0s] You climb up there. [3439.0s] How are you going to get up? [3440.0s] Well, I don't know, throw me a rope down or something. [3443.0s] Is there a tree outside? [3444.0s] Can you tie off to something? [3445.0s] I can just belay up there. [3446.0s] What rope are you talking of? [3448.0s] Oh, is there rope in my bag? [3449.0s] I mean, it's all of your stuff. [3451.0s] I have all my stuff. [3453.0s] I have thieves' tools, tinker's tools. [3458.0s] You must have like a, whatever, [3460.0s] travelers' pack or something. [3461.0s] I have a backpack adventuring gear. [3463.0s] Yeah, see? [3464.0s] Got to be a rope in there. [3465.0s] I do have a rope. [3466.0s] It's hempen. [3467.0s] It's 50 feet. [3469.0s] It's a very strong rope. [3471.0s] Okay, so I'll just lift you up. [3473.0s] You go to the top and see if you can, [3475.0s] like, find a tree or something to tie off, [3477.0s] and I can just pull myself up. [3479.0s] Yeah, okay. [3480.0s] Before we run out into the middle of this courtyard, [3483.0s] I put my beacon of light away. [3487.0s] Fair enough. [3488.0s] That's a good idea, good idea. [3490.0s] And I take a quick look around [3492.0s] to see if there are any, like, [3494.0s] anyone stationed at the top of the walls [3497.0s] in any particular lookout. [3499.0s] Make a perception. [3501.0s] I need my fucking perception. [3503.0s] Come on. [3505.0s] Seven. [3507.0s] There's nobody that you see. [3508.0s] It looks like a clear night. [3510.0s] I canonically am already at the wall. [3513.0s] I just said I touched the wall, right? [3515.0s] Didn't you say I touched the wall rest [3517.0s] to see how thick it was? [3518.0s] Yeah. [3519.0s] I also said that both of you have walked by it [3521.0s] so that you would have had previous knowledge of it. [3524.0s] Okay. [3525.0s] So then I will. [3527.0s] Well, I mean, it's only a 12 anyway, [3529.0s] so I don't perceive much more. [3532.0s] All right, let's do this fast. [3534.0s] Hoist me up. [3535.0s] Okay. [3536.0s] And I do it like it ain't no thing. [3538.0s] Sure, make a... [3539.0s] Because it ain't no thing. [3540.0s] Yeah, no, that's fine. [3542.0s] Strength? [3543.0s] Like, I don't know if I even have to do a check. [3545.0s] It's like listing a child. [3546.0s] Strength check? [3547.0s] Maybe just give me a strength check. [3549.0s] Okay. [3550.0s] There's a lot of checks in this. [3551.0s] We're good. [3552.0s] There is a lot. [3553.0s] We're making up for no rolls for the last six episodes. [3556.0s] Strength is just a normal one. [3558.0s] Yeah, just normal. [3559.0s] Owls a 20. [3561.0s] Oh, yeah, like almost with more vigor than you thought [3564.0s] because you don't know your own strength. [3566.0s] Apparently. [3567.0s] So it goes up into the air a little bit. [3569.0s] Woo! [3570.0s] I clamber onto the... [3574.0s] onto the top of the wall. [3576.0s] And I look by and I see if there's like a tree [3579.0s] or anything I can anchor my rope to. [3581.0s] There are, yep, more mature trees all along. [3585.0s] I deftly tie a superb knot [3589.0s] and I throw the rope back over the wall. [3592.0s] I'm going to climb up. [3593.0s] Strength check again? [3595.0s] Athletics. [3598.0s] I'm athletic as fuck. [3602.0s] No, yeah, I mean strength. [3603.0s] 17. [3604.0s] Those are the only two things I'm good at. [3605.0s] Actually, that's not true. [3607.0s] Yeah, absolutely. [3608.0s] You make it up and over. [3609.0s] And as you land back down on the ground, [3611.0s] you hear the sound of carriage wheels [3614.0s] kind of rounding a corner down the street. [3617.0s] I coil my rope back up and put it back in my bag. [3619.0s] You don't know when you're going to need that. [3621.0s] And we're like, I'm pressed up against the wall [3623.0s] waiting to see like what this carriage business is all about. [3627.0s] It's middle of the night, very dark, [3630.0s] but you see a horse and carriage with two figures [3633.0s] illuminated by the, what did I call them? [3638.0s] No, those are water clocks. [3639.0s] That wasn't the light. [3642.0s] They've got lights though. [3644.0s] Not like lights, but like street flames. [3647.0s] Ah, street flames. [3649.0s] Street flames. [3650.0s] Street flames. [3651.0s] Just your streets are on fire. [3653.0s] So you see kind of dimly lit behind you two figures. [3656.0s] Make a perception check. [3660.0s] 14. [3662.0s] 10. [3663.0s] 14. [3664.0s] You vaguely recognize the silhouette [3668.0s] and the profile of what you can presume to be Moot. [3671.0s] And he's seated beside a larger figure [3673.0s] which you more or less recognize as Gabriel. [3678.0s] I don't see this and I say, hey, follow my lead. [3681.0s] We're going to take this cart. [3682.0s] No, no, that's my friend. [3684.0s] I think that's my friend that got us the key, [3686.0s] the thieves tools. [3687.0s] Moot, roll a perception check. [3691.0s] As a 17. [3693.0s] Are you sure? [3694.0s] I'm pretty sure. [3697.0s] You see two figures standing, arguing amongst themselves [3701.0s] off to the side of the road. [3703.0s] Well, we're Whisper, arguably. [3704.0s] Very. [3705.0s] And we're pressed up against the wall. [3706.0s] I mean, we're pretty sticky. [3707.0s] Yeah, we're like practically invisible. [3710.0s] As there's like, imagine our height differences. [3712.0s] So I'm like up here, Whisper. [3714.0s] You're like bending way down to talk to me. [3716.0s] Totally. [3717.0s] You definitely recognize one as Glim and one as a small child. [3720.0s] Perfect. [3723.0s] I nudge Gabriel and kind of point over there and say, Glam, Glam. [3730.0s] And he grabs the reins from you and kind of pulls the horse to a stop. [3734.0s] Moot, I thought that was you. [3736.0s] Oh, thank God you're here. [3738.0s] And I like come out and I'm like, Sully, it's OK. [3742.0s] This is my friend. [3743.0s] Quicker. [3744.0s] The small child's with you. [3746.0s] OK, get in. [3747.0s] We got to go. [3748.0s] Yeah, child. [3749.0s] Quicker and quieter, please. [3751.0s] OK, but like we got to go. [3753.0s] We in it. [3754.0s] I get it. [3755.0s] Both of you climb aboard and there are no blankets back there. [3758.0s] No. [3759.0s] But you climb into the back and there's plenty of room. [3762.0s] And Gabriel snaps the horse again and you guys slowly and nonchAlydintly set off as Gabriel whistles to himself. [3772.0s] Guys, can we go to the Fallen Tower? [3776.0s] All my weapons and stuff are there. [3778.0s] Also, it would be great if we had some blankets to cover us up. [3781.0s] Yeah, I mean, Gabriel, what do you think? [3784.0s] Oh, we got to go back to the Fallen Town. [3788.0s] OK. [3789.0s] Yeah, sure. [3790.0s] We can probably do that. [3791.0s] Hey, can we grab a plate while we're there? [3793.0s] I'm so thirsty. [3794.0s] We should probably not hang out there for very long because you guys are going to jail. [3798.0s] Maybe you can bring one to go. [3800.0s] Yeah, we're going to make this real quick, guys. [3802.0s] All right. [3806.0s] Moot and Glim having recently broken out of their respective cells. [3826.0s] What? [3827.0s] No. [3828.0s] Sully and Glim have broken out of respective cells. [3831.0s] Yeah. [3832.0s] Moot was an accomplice? [3833.0s] They just want to cut me into this podcast entirely. [3835.0s] This whole moth thing is my fault. [3836.0s] It's where it started. [3838.0s] The profile of Glim seated beside a larger fellow who you're not Glim. [3844.0s] Fuck. [3845.0s] Fuck. [3846.0s] You see yourself driving the carriage. [3849.0s] Mindfuck. [3850.0s] Boom. [3851.0s] Episode over. [3852.0s] No. [3853.0s] The prison was inside your mind. [3856.0s] You wake up in the middle of the maze and there's... [3860.0s] Back at Xanthal's tower.
